Sabra - St Gregory’s Pottergate
Artist Maz Jackson with Hope, Art & Recovering Together Group (HART)
LOCATION: SABRA No 9 St Benedict’s Street
St Gregory’s Church on Pottergate / St. Benedict’s Street is famous for some of the finest medieval wall-paintings in East Anglia including its ‘St George killing the dragon’ which is twelve feet high. Maz Jackson, internationally renowned artist worked with Hope, Art and Recovering Together (HART), a recovery community to investigate the style and techniques of medieval painting. The group then designed a dragon that is illustrated using the historic wall painting as inspiration and was created using the ancient and traditional egg tempera painting techniques.
