LOCATION: ARGON No 17 St John’s Maddermarket
Behind this handsome stained glass, furnace blown dragon stands the Church of St John, Maddermarket. During the time Argon might have been flying around the city, St Johns became the final resting place of 9 Lord Mayors and 5 High Sheriffs of Norwich. William Kemp jumped into the churchyard after having morris danced his way from London in 9 days! (the Nine Days Wonder!) Tim and Fiona of ermcic.com worked with the CommonRoom Collective to decorate the beast in thousands of mosaic tesserae of different sizes and colours.
