Gloria the Garden Dragon is revealed at Norwich church
Gloria the Garden Dragon has been created by artist Jo Cane and she was recently unveiled at the Norwich church.
The dragon has been sponsored by Norwich-Over-The-Water Group, which includes a number of organisations based around St George’s Street and Colegate and also parishioners of St George Colegate.
Gloria has been inspired by many of the birds and insects spotted in the west garden of the church, and it is hoped the area will be enjoyed by families who are following the GoGoDragons! trail of 84 dragons through Norwich this summer.
Churchwarden Matt Williams said: “If the reaction of the sponsors to the revealing of Gloria is anything to go by, our stunning dragon is going to be fantastically popular. What better place to enjoy a garden dragon than on the lawn next to the church, with our tower and clock as backdrop. St George Colegate is so very pleased make this space available over the summer and to share in a wonderful community event for everyone.”
The project to create and sponsor Gloria the Garden Dragon was steered by Anne Duarte and Jenny Hartt.
