The Maddermarket Theatre has been supplying Norfolk with the very best in Community Theatre for over 100 years. It is a project that enables hundreds of volunteers to take part, both on and off stage. Opportunities are endless when it comes to how people can get involved, and with this in mind the theatre has just gone into partnership with Voluntary Norfolk. In recent months the newly appointed Joint Creative Directors, Stash Kirkbride & Peter Beck have set about refurbishing the building, as well as connecting with local businesses and individuals who are all helping to support in 2015 and beyond.

Our Maddermarket Theatre GoGoDragon! is soon to take pride of place in our upper courtyard. Our senior theatre designer John Stokes will be painting many of William Shakespeare’s characters on our dragon, in readiness for his arrival in our lower courtyard, summer 2015. This will be a tremendous educational opportunity for schools and colleges…. How many images can you see on our dragon?…and can you spot the hidden dragon in our lower courtyard on your visit to the Jewel in the Crown of theatre in Norfolk.
