Broadland Tots2Teens are the proud owners of two junior GoGoDragons! Please see the other page for details & photo’s of the sibling dragon.
Broadland District Council’s Tots2Teens run holiday activities for children aged five years and upwards during all school holidays. Activities are held throughout the Broadland District in village halls, schools and community centres from Reedham to Reepham and in the fringe parishes of Hellesdon and Thorpe St Andrew. To be eligible, children must live or go to school in Broadland. Families can register free of charge to receive our holiday information and are required to complete and sign a parent consent form. A range of sessions are run each day including play, arts, cookery, sports, crime scene investigation and specialist workshops such as digital photography.
Tots2Teens have previously taken part in the Go Elephants and GoGoGorillas sculpture trails and all of the children involved have thoroughly enjoyed the experience. This year we will also be incorporating the Arts Award into our sessions, offering all children the opportunity to gain a qualification in the arts whilst contributing to our Dragon’s design.
Dragon name: Rainbow.
Dragon design: Rainbow was created in the Easter holidays by young people aged between 9 and 13 years old. Each member of the group took responsibility for designing a section of the dragon and transferred this onto the sculpture. As well as designing the artwork, the group made models from clay; stained glass windows and learnt about dragons. They all gained their discover level arts award.
Rainbow is on display in The Forum until 5th September.
