Aylsham High School, Norfolk
Dragon name: DRAGon Perry.
Dragon design: Twenty students from year 7 and 8 have all created their own clay dragons, each with very different ideas for the identity of their dragon. The development of ideas has taken place in a weekly after school club run by our year 11 Art & Graphics Captains, Lydia Whiting and Matty Shirtcliff. Playful interpretations of the word DRAGon lead the way to thinking about identity and the recent artworks of Grayson Perry, the Master in exploring this subject. Now we have the vehicle for all students being able to express a little of their own identity to form a cohesive whole: Meet DRAGon Perry.
DRAGon Perry is on display in intu Chapelfield. In September he will return to Aylsham High School to no doubt take pride of place.
