Garrick Green Infant School
Dragon name: “Garrick”
Dragon design: Garrick Green Infant School’s dragon has been inspired by the work of popular children’s author Eric Carle. Garrick Green and Sprowston High have been busy working to create a pair of sibling dragons. Reception pupils looked at some of Carle’s painting techniques and they each created a pair of dragon scales. Year 2 children attached these to the dragon’s wings. Year 1 pupils used layers of acrylic and metallic paint to give the dragon fantastic skin texture. The pupils have used a wide range of different techniques including sponging, stencilling and collage. They have been extremely creative and eager to be involved.
The students at Sprowston High School have been working with the pupils at Garrick Green Infant School and they now have sibling dragons.
Garrick will be on display at Haart 18 Queen Street (Tombland) from 4th July. He will then go back to school in September to live happily ever after
Break Charity is extremely grateful to Haart for donating a raffle prize to use at a future fundraising event. They are also holding a collecting tin for Break – ideal for spare change when enjoying the dragon trail! Many thanks!
Break would also like to say a Huge Thank You to all the students, staff & families at Garrick Green School for saving coins in the special GoGoDragon! collecting boxes. They have raised an amazing £177.46 which will all go towards helping to change young lives in Norfolk & East Anglia
